In 1790 the evil Lestat Tom Cruise, a 200-year old vampire, decides he wants a buddy and chooses Louis Brad Pitt. However, despite Louis' desire for death after his young wife's demise, Lestat hasn't banked on Louis being so guilt-ridden when it comes to sucking blood from humans. So whilst Lestat continues to feast upon human flesh, Louis sticks to rats and chickens. That is, until he meets the young Claudia Kirstan Dunst. Two hundred years later, Louis tells his story to a young reporter Christian Slater.

Director and star Kenneth Branagh brings another Shakespearean adaptation to the screen. Alan Parker's musical spoof of gangster films features an all-child cast with guns that fire cream. When gang warfare erupts between Fat Sam and Dandy Dan, hustler Bugsy Malone Scott Baio, singer Tallulah Jodie Foster and newly arrived showgirl Blousey Brown Florrie Dugger find themselves caught up in the middle of it.

Edgar Wright directs this documentary focusing on the career of American pop rock duo Sparks, formed by brothers Russell and Ron Mael in 1966. Featuring interviews with famous fans including Beck, Flea, Jason Schwartzman and Thurston Moore, the film charts Sparks' unconventional five decades in the music business.

Sarah Hopson Valerie Edmond realises that her glamorous New York lifestyle is essentially empty, and decides to move back to her home town in the Scottish Borders and pursue her only true love - her childhood sweetheart Sam Gerard Butler. This comes as something of a surprise to Sam, and his wife is not too thrilled when Sarah turns up on the doorstep and wants to spend some quality time with her husband.

Los Angeles-set car chase thriller from Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn. Ryan Gosling stars as Driver, a Hollywood stunt performer who earns extra money working as a getaway driver for jewellery heists and bank robberies. Having become friendly with his neighbour, Irene Carey Mulligan, and her son, Benecio Kaden Leos, the Driver agrees to help Irene's husband Oscar Isaac escape from a robbery with the funds to pay off a gangland debt. Unfortunately, the job goes horribly wrong and Driver ends up on the run with a bag of loot in the boot of his car and a procession of ruthless gangsters - including Nino Ron Perlman and Bernie Albert Brooks - hot on his tail.

Stephen Frears directs this biographical drama focusing on controversial British playwright Joe Orton Gary Oldman, revealed in flashback after his murder by lover Kenneth Halliwell Alfred Molina. Born in Leicester, Orton moves to London and enjoys an openly gay relationship with Halliwell in their famous Islington flat in the 1960s. However, when Orton achieves spectacular success with such plays as 'What the Butler Saw' and 'Loot', Halliwell begins to feel alienated and the pair's future looks increasingly uncertain.

David Lynch directs this cult 1980s classic starring Dennis Hopper and Kyle MacLachlan. When college student Jeffrey Beaumont MacLachlan returns home to look after his dad's store while he's in hospital, a short stroll through a seemingly peaceful field sees him stumbling upon a severed ear. As Jeffrey reports the crime to the police he finds himself being sucked into a world of murder, voyeurism and sado-masochism.

Chan-Wook Park co-writes and directs this Korean drama adapted from Sarah Waters' novel 'Fingersmith'. Set in Korea in the 1930s, with the country under Japanese colonial rule, the film follows orphaned pickpocket Sook-hee Tae Ri Kim who is hired by a con artist posing as Japanese Count Fujiwara Jung-Woo Ha to act as the handmaiden of heiress Lady Hideko Min-hee Kim, a ploy which Fujiwara hopes will allow him to pocket the heiress' wealth for himself. As Sook-hee tries to persuade Lady Hideko to fall for the Count she instead is the one who forges an intimate bond with her new employer. The story of Hideko's troubled upbringing unfolds as the two women revel in their passionate, new relationship and explore their previously repressed desires.

Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt star in this fantasy adventure directed by Joe Johnston. When Judy and Peter Shepherd Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce move into a new house with their aunt Nora Bebe Neuwirth, they discover a mysterious board game in the attic. They soon live to regret opening the game however, as with each move they release wild animals along with Alan Parrish Williams, a grown man who has been trapped inside the game since he was 12-years-old. Together they must seek out Alan's friend Sarah Hunt and re-enter the game in order to send back all of the wild beasts.

Danny DeVito directs and stars in this classic adventure based on the book by Roald Dahl. Matilda Wormwood Mara Wilson is an exceptionally gifted and intelligent child, but her parents Harry DeVito and Zinnia Rhea Perlman treat her with her contempt. A keen reader, her dearest wish is to be sent to school, but the establishment Harry selects is Crunchemhall, run by the brutal Miss Trunchball Pam Ferris.
