Richard Attenborough's film version of the smash Broadway musical, in which dancers audition for an important new show in front of hard-bitten director Zach Michael Douglas. The number of hopefuls is reduced to just sixteen and Zach asks each one to step into the spotlight to reveal their hopes and fears. Meanwhile, he has to contend with his own past when his ex-girlfriend turns up looking for a part in the show. Musical numbers include 'Dance Ten, Looks Three' and 'What I Did for Love'.

German comedy drama co-written and directed by Percy Adlon. Bavarian tourist Jasmin Marianne Sagebrecht is dumped by her husband in the Arizona Desert and arrives, on foot and overdressed, at a truck-stop called the Bagdad Caf. There she finds friendship with the initially irritable owner Brenda CCH Pounder and something like romance with the resident artist Rudi Jack Palance.

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in this 1980s sci-fi action thriller directed by Paul Verhoeven. Doug Quaid Schwarzenegger, a happily married construction worker living in the year 2084, is haunted by a recurrent dream in which he is living with a woman on Mars. Rekall Incorporated offer him the chance to live out his dream by implanting the memory of a trip to Mars into his brain. But something goes wrong during the installation of Quaid's memory and soon he lands up on the planet for real, unsure of his true identity and pursued by a gang out for his blood. He teams up with a group of resistance fighters to uncover a mystery which leads to the highest echelons of the planet's government.

US action drama directed by Tony Scott. Tom Cruise plays Maverick, a young fighter pilot enrolled at Naval college, training with the most gifted flyers of his generation, and competing for the prestigious Top Gun award. Maverick soon establishes himself as one of the best in his class, but his insistence on doing things his own way soon brings him into conflict with his superiors and his main student rival Iceman Val Kilmer. The cast also includes Anthony Edwards and Kelly McGillis.
