Martin Scorsese makes his first foray into children's cinema with this semi-fantastical drama based on a book by Brian Selznick. Asa Butterfield stars as Hugo, an orphan who lives in the hidden nooks of a train station in 1920s Paris. With the help of his friend, Isabelle Chlo Moretz, he sets out to solve a mystery left behind by his late father Jude Law a curious puzzle involving a heart-shaped key, a cranky toy shop owner Ben Kingsley and a broken automaton. Along the way, the tangled lives of the staff and passengers at the station provide numerous colourful detours, and Scorsese pays homage to early pioneers of cinema including the Lumiere brothers and Georges Mlis. The film was nominated for eleven Oscars and won five awards including Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects.

Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as vampire warrior Selene in this, the fourth part of the fantasy thriller franchise. When humans discover the existence of the Vampire and Lycan clans, Selene must escape imprisonment and lead the battle to protect both species from the threat of extermination by the forces of humanity. Scott Speedman and Charles Dance co-star.

Thriller in which a group of college friends' vacation on a lake island cabin turns into a nightmare when they discover they are surrounded by flesh-hungry sharks. Sara Sara Paxton and her friends arrive at her family's Louisiana holiday cabin in good spirits. With the weather as sunny as they'd hoped, they soon venture outside to sunbathe and swim. Things begin to go wrong when football player Malik Sinqua Walls emerges from the water with an arm missing. Little do they know what waits in store for them when they set sail across the lake to try and get Malik to a hospital the group are hunted by what seem like hundreds of sharks and face a desperate battle for survival.

Alexandre Aja helms this remake also of the 1970s B-movie horror, also released in 3D. Elizabeth Shue stars as Julie Forester, the tough, no-nonsense sheriff who must take charge in the close-knit community of Lake Victoria after an underwater tremor releases scores of the prehistoric human-eating fish into the lake. As her family and neighbours look set to be devoured by the aquatic carnivores, Julie must risk everything to take them on herself.

Gaspar No writes, directs and produces this explicit romantic drama. The story follows American film student Murphy Karl Glusman who has split-up with his French girlfriend Elektra Aomi Muyock after cheating on her with another woman, named Omi Klara Kristin. Two years later, a worried phone call from Elektra's mother causes Murphy to spend New Year's Eve in search of his former lover as he ponders how their relationship fell apart.

Children's adventure story adapted from Daniel Defoe's famous novel. When Robinson Crusoe voice of Yuri Lowenthal is washed up on a small exotic island, he soon understands the best way to survive is to use the help of parrot Mak David Howard and the other island animals. They all live happily together until one day their peace is shattered by the appearance of two dangerous cats. Crusoe, Mak and the others must work together to save the island from the intruders and discover the true power of friendship along the way.

Jennifer Lawrence reprises her role as Katniss Everdeen in the fourth and final instalment of the sci-fi film series based on the novels by Suzanne Collins. With Katniss as their leader, the citizens of Panem unite in battle against the Capitol in an attempt to bring down the autocratic President Snow Donald Sutherland once and for all. Supported by her friends, including Peeta Josh Hutcherson and Gale Liam Hemsworth, Katniss faces her biggest challenge yet, fighting not only for her life but for the future of her world. The cast also features Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore and Philip Seymour Hoffman in his final film role.

Luc Besson writes and directs this French action sci-fi based on Pierre Christin's sci-fi comic series 'Valrian and Laureline'. Tasked with maintaining peace throughout the universe, special government operatives Valerian Dane DeHaan and Laureline Cara Delevingne are sent by their commander Arn Filitt Clive Owen to the spectacular city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis home to millions of inhabitants from all over the galaxy. With an unseen villainous force causing an uprising which could put the future of the city in danger, Valerian and Laureline must put their personal issues to one side and work together to put a stop to the trouble before it's too late. The cast also includes Ethan Hawke, Rutger Hauer and Rihanna.

Ben Smith writes and directs this children's animation which unites a cat and dog in an important mission. After Buddy voice of Nick Frost is launched into space as part of an experiment, a strange event turns him into a superhero and he crash-lands back on Earth - 50 years later. Buddy begins looking for his owner so he can reunite with him, but soon realises that the future he has arrived in has all humans afraid of animals and they are no longer kept as pets. To make matters worse, a mean police officer named Peck is capturing all the animals he finds on the streets, never to be seen again. Luckily, Buddy runs into a genius cat named Felix Luke Evans, who might just have the cunning and wit to help Buddy restore order in their town and put a stop to Peck.
